The past two weeks in ISM have been incredibly insightful, especially as I reached a major milestone by interviewing Mr. Brajesh Jha, the SVP and Global Business Leader of Data, Tech, and AI at Genpact. This conversation was transformative, as Mr. Jha’s background in both technology and business offered a well-rounded perspective that complements my ISM project on AI in healthcare. Hearing about his journey—from a long-standing role at Oracle to leading AI-driven initiatives at Genpact—was inspiring, especially his achievement of building a multimillion-dollar business within the media and content industry. His approach to managing various business elements, including operations, customer satisfaction, finance, and employee engagement, revealed the importance of a holistic strategy, which I now understand is essential for any AI-driven product, particularly in the healthcare field, where patient care, regulatory standards, and technical reliability all intersect. Mr. Jha also shared insights into the productivity-enhancing potential of AI, like the Microsoft Teams Copilot feature, which summarizes meetings in real-time, giving me new ideas for my project; I could imagine similar AI tools in healthcare aiding professionals by instantly compiling patient information and key insights. Beyond technical applications, I learned from Mr. Jha about the “silent partner” role AI plays across different business functions, from customer service to payment systems, continuously improving workflows and efficiency. This perspective has inspired me to broaden my own vision for my app, perhaps incorporating features that empower healthcare professionals to track and manage patient cases more effectively through the data from my app that the patient agrees to share. Reflecting on this interview, I am excited to increase my research and explore specific AI use cases to refine my project further, which could add impactful functionality to my final product. Mr. Jha’s experiences not only helped refine my project focus but also broadened my understanding of AI’s transformative role across industries, motivating me to develop a solution that goes beyond diagnostics and truly makes a difference in healthcare.
